Informing Text on the Processing of Personal Data
  • Pursuant to Article 10 titled “Obligation of the Data Controller to Inform” of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (the “Law” or “PDPL”), published in the Official Gazette dated April 7, 2016, and numbered 29677, and the Communiqué on the Principles and Procedures to be Followed in the Fulfillment of the Obligation to Inform published in the Official Gazette dated March 10, 2018, and numbered 30356, this Clarification Text aims to inform you regarding some or all of the personal data you provide during your visits to the website www.sagalawfirm.com (“Website”), especially through the form under the "Contact" tab, processed by SAGA Law Firm (“SAGA”) in its capacity as data controller.

1. Personal Data Subject to Processing

The following personal data may be processed by SAGA in compliance with the PDPL:
Identity Information: Name, surname, etc.
Contact Information: Phone number, email address, etc.
Transaction Security Data: IP address details, website access logs, pixel tags, clickstream, traffic data, etc.
Visual and Audio Data: Your photo, etc.

2. Purpose of Processing Your Personal Data
  • Your personal data mentioned above may be processed for the following purposes:
  • To review the content of messages sent via the website’s contact email link/form, determine the nature of requests or complaints, and respond accordingly,
  • To improve the website content based on user preferences,
  • To determine the topics to be presented to users via the website,
  • To carry out corporate communication activities,
  • To maintain the operations of the website.
3. Methods of Collection and Legal Grounds
  • Your personal data may be collected and processed electronically or physically through the following methods and based on the following legal grounds as per PDPL:

  • In accordance with Articles 5/2-a and 5/2-ç of the Law and other applicable legislation (e.g., Law No. 6563 on Regulation of Electronic Commerce, Regulation on Commercial Communication and Electronic Messages, Law No. 5651 on Regulation of Publications on the Internet).
4. Sharing of Personal Data with Third Parties

Your personal data may be transferred to domestic and international third-party service providers for database and server services, limited to what is necessary for the relevant services. Access by these third parties is restricted to what is required for their respective tasks. Personal data may also be disclosed to official authorities, courts, enforcement offices, attorneys, and similar third parties, in accordance with applicable laws.

5. Retention Period of Your Personal Data
  • Your personal data will be processed and retained by SAGA for the duration necessary to fulfill the purposes specified above, and in any case, until the end of the legally mandated retention period. Once the purpose or retention period expires, or upon your request, the data will be deleted, destroyed, or anonymized in accordance with PDPL.
6. Protection, Retention, and Disposal of Personal Data

To prevent unauthorized access, erroneous processing, disclosure, unlawful alteration, or deletion of your personal data, SAGA implements all necessary technical and administrative measures as required under data protection regulations. In case of any breach, such as data being compromised, damaged, or exposed due to attacks on SAGA’s servers or other systems, both you and the Personal Data Protection Board will be notified immediately.

7. Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Data
  • According to Article 11 of the Law, you may contact SAGA as the data controller to exercise the following rights:
  • Learn whether your personal data is processed,
  • Request information if your personal data has been processed,
  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in line with this purpose,
  • Know the third parties to whom your data is transferred, domestically or abroad,
  • Request correction if the data is incomplete or inaccurate,
  • Request deletion or destruction of your data within the scope of Article 7,
  • Request that the corrections, deletions, or destruction be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred,
  • Object to any outcome that is to your detriment resulting from analysis of personal data exclusively through automated systems,
  • Demand compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing of your personal data.
8. Contact Information for Your Rights and Requests

You may submit your requests regarding the above rights to SAGA in accordance with the “Communiqué on the Principles and Procedures for Application to the Data Controller.” Depending on the nature of your request, it will be concluded as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days.
